Why, in your opinion, are we so interested in survival shows/books/etc.? Generally, we live very pampered lives (or at least most tumblr people do, I’m assuming, since they’re on the internet browsing through this site instead of, like, doing work). What is it about survival situations that draw us in, when we don’t really intend to go out and try it for ourselves? Or even if we do want to, why don’t we?
A year ago today, I fell into a campfire. I got third degree burns and had to drive in an ambulance out to a pretty far hospital and everything sucked. But then all my friends came to visit. And they sat in that hospital room with me and just talked for hours. And everything felt ridiculously better after that (and a few mgs of morphine, let’s be real here).
Write about a time your character was in a bad situation and their friend(s) came to support them in some way. How did they support them, how did your character react? Tell us everything.
And please submit your work when you are through! Ifyougiveagirlakeyboard.tumblr.com/submit
Your character has had a grueling day at work and comes home to find the front door wide open.
I deserve to be shot in the face twice for ignoring you guys so long, but things have been crazy and now I have a week-long theatre competition to go to. I leave later today for it. If I have internet, I will try to update (no promise, though, I might be dead of pixie stix overdose). In any case, I hope to bring back a superior with my pantomime and I will do it for you loverlies! >:0
- Write about your character going on stage for the very first time. What for? How did they act up there?
Kate here! I’m on spring break, and hopefully Chris gets some free time soon, but here a prompt.
Write about losing a pet.
(super sorry about the hiatus, the mods have had an insane week because we both got sick and therefore had a small mountain of makeup work to complete)
Write about a character having an unusual emotional reaction to either a very minor thing or a life-changing event. Do they laugh when they get angry, cry hysterically when excited, or something else that could garner weird stares from bystanders? 500+ words and submit a link to us!
Your character is travelling. They’ve somehow ended up in the wrong place and gotten themselves completely lost. They need to find shelter and food pretty quickly, but, unfortunately, they do not speak the language. This is going to be difficult.
C’est la vie.
500-1000 words about how your character goes about solving this problem and submit it to us!
Vamos a Wikipedia!
This link will take you to a completely random Wikipedia article. You only get one click. Write about the first article you get and write about it using only the information on the page. No cheating.
You are at your best friend’s funeral, reflecting on how they died. You stuck around long enough to watch them lower the casket into the ground, even when everyone else left because, let’s face it. No one wants to see a person put in the earth to be eventually forgotten. Well, almost everyone left.
While you’re standing there, you reach out and fumble for the hand of the person next to you, which happens to be your best friend. They’re watching their casket go down, too.
